The sensor emits white LED light onto the target and separates the received signal into RGB components. By using the RGB output voltage values, Aratas’s proprietary*1 “Color Index” is calculated, enabling high-precision detection of changes in lubricant color and saturation.

Application Example
■Application：Machine Tools
By acquiring the correlation between changes in lubricant color used in machine tools and the Color Index, threshold values can be set based on the reference lubricant color used as a replacement criterion.
When the Color Index exceeds the set threshold, the sensor enables confirmation of lubricant deterioration status and optimal replacement timing via I2C communication.
